As previously announced, BaYo at SummerStage in Manhattan was a huge success. The images from the previous show in Montreal had already hinted at the potential of the lineup, but the experience far exceeded expectations. Being Haitian, proudly embracing Haitian identity, was in vogue last Saturday in the Big Apple, where nearly 5,000 people gathered at BaYo. This impressive audience witnessed a top-notch performance led by Michael Brun, whose motto is to bring Haitian music to the world. True to his strategy, the recipient of the "Best Urban Music Album" at the 2020 Latin Grammy Awards for his participation in Colombian artist J Balvin's album "Colores," brought together Haitian and international artists on the SummerStage.

From the setup to the performances and the massive festive atmosphere that pervaded Central Park, it's hard to find any negative criticism about BaYo at SummerStage, except perhaps a brief lull after Paul Beaubrun's performance or the overly long lines at the bar and food vendors. It's hard to avoid mentioning the latter issue. The invitation card said 6 pm, and the event started right on time, even though the audience was still a bit shy. One after another, artists like Kolo, Paul Beaubrun, Anie Alerte, Lakou Mizik, Bullet, Naïka, Troubleboy, Saint Levant, Lolo Zouaï, Emeline Michel, AndyBeatz, Joeboy, Baky, KES, King Promise, Anthony Ramos, J Perry, and Richard Cavé graced the stage during the four-hour BaYo event. As the different performances were synchronized to entertain and build anticipation, the audience savored Michael's diverse sounds, as he remained on the turntables from the beginning of the show until the end.
