The tally of victims of gang fury is distressingly high. The recent onslaught by the Grand-Ravine gang has been bloody, resulting in 54 deaths due to attacks in Carrefour-Feuilles. This number, combined with other criminal activities across the country, raises the victim count to 73, according to the RNDDH. The organization highlights that the scenario is the same in Artibonite and the West: armed gangs are activated to maintain an atmosphere of terror in the country, killing citizens, injuring others, and driving thousands of families to flee, abandoning their homes and belongings.

The human rights organization also decries the fact that in these two departments, the reactions of victims and their families are similar: they feel that the police force has made no effort to protect them from the fury of armed gangs.
