In charge of the investigation since May 30, 2022, examining magistrate Walter W. Voltaire has stepped up the pace. Marky Kessa, former mayor of Jacmel, now serving as interim executive agent, was arrested after being questioned in Judge Voltaire's office this Monday. Among the long list of political and economic figures in the Haitian landscape questioned by Judge Voltaire in the investigation into the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse, Kessa was not free to move after his interrogation on Monday, November 20.

In a short video posted on social media, the interim executive agent can be seen accompanied by a police officer and his lawyer before boarding a police vehicle. "The hearing of any judge is confidential. I can't say anything because it is confidential," said interim executive agent Marky Kessa upon leaving the judge's office.
