The program concluded with the presentation of the sixth and final cohort of 15 businesses at the Karibe Convention Center last Friday. The young entrepreneurs who founded these businesses presented before a jury tasked with selecting the eight best among them to receive a grant. "There is a fund of $35,000 for the winning businesses. The first business will receive a larger amount than the eighth," stated Philippe St-Cyr, without specifying the exact amount each business will receive.
These young business leaders, like their counterparts in the previous five cohorts, benefited from six months of training within this incubator program. They learned, among other things, how to access financing from banks, credit unions, and microcredits, as well as how to export their products abroad. These new entrepreneurs learned about the program through social media, and on average, around 300 young people applied for each cohort, proposing business ideas. However, only 15 were selected and retained.
