"Less than one billion gourdes of public investment during the first three months of the current fiscal year. This is an extremely low amount in a country where there is a need to build many more schools, hospitals, roads, etc.," denounced economist Kesner Pharel in the financial magazine Investir, a weekly program broadcast every Saturday on Radio Métropole.
The government collected, during the first three months, through the General Customs Administration (AGD), the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI), and public agencies responsible for funding the Treasury, more than 40 billion gourdes. According to forecasts, the budget stands at 320 billion gourdes.
