The main employers' associations, in a letter dated April 15, 2024, addressed to the President of Kenya, William Ruto, indicated that they hope for the deployment of Kenyan forces "within a relatively short period" at a time when Port-au-Prince has been under siege for over a month with devastating consequences for the entire country, and there is evidence of the Haitian security forces' inability to rout armed gangs.

"Given the imminent formation of the Haitian transitional government, widely open and inclusive, expected in the coming days, the undersigned members of the business community look forward to welcoming Kenyan forces within a relatively short period," the letter reads, expressing the "concerns" of these associations regarding the delay in deploying the multinational national security support mission, whose mandate expires on July 2.
