The arms and ammunition trafficking case in Port-de-Paix caused a stir due to the "presumed" involvement of the acting commissioner of Port-de-Paix and Me Robinson Pierre-Louis, a member of former Minister Berto Dorcé's cabinet. The latter was "wrongly" singled out by the Bureau of Financial and Economic Affairs (BAFE) of the Central Directorate of Judicial Police (DCPJ).
Following the summons dated January 16, 2023, to the investigating judge to confirm or refute the existence of a letter rogatory authorizing the DCPJ to question the former Minister of Justice and Public Security, the judge responded unequivocally: "No, because the letter rogatory in question expired on December 9, 2022." The name of the former Minister of Justice was never mentioned.
