The first weeks of the transition have been calm. Members of the Presidential Transition Council, following the installation of the Conille government, are keeping a low profile and allowing the new government to proceed with its agenda. Prime Minister Garry Conille wastes no time in taking center stage. His communications team floods the media with press releases and photos of his meetings and visits. Virtual presence dominates the initial weeks of Garry Conille's leadership of the country.
Alongside the Prime Minister's satisfactory meetings and visits, this week he reiterated his promise to restore peace in the country. The state will regain control of every house and neighborhood occupied by gangs. The arrival this week of the first contingent of Kenyan police officers in the country marks a significant step towards fulfilling this eagerly awaited promise.
