After a month-long shutdown, the port of Port-au-Prince received two ships on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Additional ships are expected to arrive this week. If all goes smoothly, without major incidents, the coming weeks will be decisive for new bookings with shipping lines, Le Nouvelliste learned on Monday, October 14, 2024.

"The port of Port-au-Prince received two ships last Saturday. This week, several container transport ships are expected at the port," the Director-General of the National Port Authority (APN), Jocelin Villier, told Le Nouvelliste on Monday. "This demonstrates a renewal of confidence," he stated, acknowledging the efforts and commitment of the APN, the Haitian National Police (PNH), the Haitian Armed Forces (FAD’H), and the highest authorities in the country.
