The Minister of Economy and Finance, Ketleen Florestal, highlighted the importance of formal, statutory, and both multilateral and bilateral meetings during her participation in the IMF and World Bank annual meetings in Washington, held from October 21 to 26, 2024. "We had the opportunity to make ourselves heard," she stated, referring to a "donor roundtable" organized by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) on behalf of the Haitian government on Wednesday, October 23.

"Prime Minister Garry Conille addressed this donor roundtable via videoconference. He shared updates on the situation, expressed his concerns, and urged the international community to assist us in various areas. I echoed his remarks, providing further details on economic and social issues, the challenges we face, and the measures we’re implementing to meet the population's needs with the 2024-2025 budget," explained Ketleen Florestal. She discussed Haiti’s need for security funding within the budget and the efforts to strengthen governance.
