“The surveillance covered both the external and internal perimeter of the commercial bank. The Cat Team officer approached the vehicle before he was apprehended,” explained PNH spokesperson Michel-Ange Louis-Jeune. During a search of the officer’s vehicle, authorities found 237,000 gourdes, an iPhone 14 Pro Max, an S5, a Galaxy S8, a 9mm pistol, 18 rounds of 9mm ammunition, a magazine, over 2,600 rounds of various calibers, two fluorescent vests, and a tactical knife.

“The additional ammunition found in the vehicle had no connection to the officer’s service weapon,” added spokesperson Louis-Jeune.
