In the grand hall of the Montana Hotel, officials share data. Dr. Christian Mouala, UNAIDS Country Director in Haiti, delivers his speech:
“In 2023, Haiti made significant progress in its HIV response, achieving a 34% reduction in new HIV infections since 2010 and a 75% reduction in HIV-related deaths. Additionally, progress toward the 95-95-95 targets in Haiti is notable: 96% of people living with HIV have been diagnosed, 85% are on treatment, and 74% of those on treatment have achieved viral suppression.” These figures, he noted, are from the 2024 National AIDS Program report.
