The government, recognizing the sacrifices of police officers mobilized on all fronts, has allocated 1.9 billion gourdes annually as part of financial support to the Haitian National Police (PNH) via the debit card known as "Ti kat la", Le Nouvelliste has learned following the earlier announcement made by Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé.

“To significantly increase the amount provided for financial support (debit card), the government had to make a substantial sacrifice to mobilize a sum of 1.9 billion gourdes annually, or approximately 190 million gourdes per month,” revealed the Minister of Economy and Finance, Alfred Métellus, to the newspaper on Thursday, December 19, 2024.
