Twenty-four hours after a protest against insecurity, the President of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT), Fritz Alphonse Jean, said he “hears the population,” “tired of the security situation,” urges them to remain vigilant so that others do not exploit their frustrations, and assures that the security forces—though previously ineffective in communicating their operations—are working on actions to “contain the violence.”

“We hear what the population is saying. They are tired of the security situation. It is their right to protest. It is a right guaranteed by the Constitution. However, the one thing the population must be careful about is that others do not use this as an opportunity to do something else,” said CPT President Fritz Alphonse Jean.
