Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé assured that all “possible measures” are being taken to secure the “strategic zone” where the country’s two telecommunications companies, Natcom and Digicel, are located, just hours after violent clashes erupted on Tuesday, April 23, in Pacot between armed gangs, the police, and members of neighborhood committees.

“This is a zone we consider to be a strategic area. We held meetings with the leaders of these companies, and we are taking every possible measure to ensure that this zone, which is important and strategic for the country, is secured,” the Prime Minister told Le Nouvelliste on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
