We can no longer count the promises made by our authorities to restore security throughout the country. From Ariel Henry to Fritz Alphonse Jean, the promises to fight gangs have multiplied, but all have remained ineffective.
In May 2024, during the commemoration of Flag Day and University Day, the former coordinator of the CPT, Edgard Leblanc Fils, promised to have the national bicolor flag raised everywhere in the country, especially on top of public buildings. To reinforce this promise, then-Prime Minister Garry Conille would swear at every opportunity that the State would take back control of the country, neighborhood by neighborhood, house by house. Leslie Voltaire, Edgard Leblanc's successor, committed to clearing at least one national road before handing over power to Fritz Alphonse Jean. Should we forget the statements of the Chief of the National Police, Rameau Normil, during his second term, when he spoke about "the end of recess for the criminals"?
