At the UN Security Council meeting on Haiti held Wednesday, July 2, 2025, United Nations officials once again warned of the potential collapse of the Haitian state.

"Gangs have further tightened their grip on the Haitian capital, where a 'total collapse' of state presence could become a 'very real scenario'," the UN warned Wednesday, describing a country growing "closer to the brink," according to Agence France-Presse.
