"As of May 31, 2025, the payroll showed, compared to the month of April, a decrease in staff numbers and a slight increase in the total wage bill. It recorded an amount of three billion six hundred eighty-eight million seven hundred twenty-eight thousand nine hundred eighty gourdes and 42/100 (3,688,728,980.42) for 99,784 printed checks," according to the payroll movement report for the month of May 2025 consulted by Le Nouvelliste.

"If we isolate the duplicates (cases of dual employment authorized by law), the actual number of staff listed on the payroll is 91,877 employees, of whom 27,573 are women, or 30.01%. The rate of payment by bank transfer rose from 27.49% to 28.16%, representing an increase of 0.67%. Payment by check was observed at the MPCE, MDE (particularly at SNGRS), DGPNH, MHAVE, FADH, MENFP, MJSAC, and the Senate," the report states.
