Although the Presidential Council and the government often speak of the need to organize elections in the country, they are nevertheless unable to project a date for these ballots. The electoral institution, which published a draft electoral decree at the end of October, will modify this document after inviting stakeholders to submit recommendations on the decree.
“We have received quite a number of recommendations on the draft electoral decree. A commission will synthesize the comments and recommendations. Then, the team that initially worked on the draft decree will sort through what can be kept or not before sending a decree proposal to the CPT for publication in Le Moniteur,” a member of the Electoral Council explained to Le Nouvelliste on Wednesday.
