Police and judicial authorities carried out a search on Wednesday, December 12, in Canapé-Vert, at a residence belonging to the president of the municipal commission of Port-au-Prince, Ralph Youri Chevry. The operation was conducted by agents of the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ), notably from the Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI), accompanied by the Government Commissioner of Port-au-Prince, attorney Fritz Patterson Dorval. The operation lasted approximately three hours, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., according to a witness contacted by Le Nouvelliste.

A source close to the Port-au-Prince prosecutor’s office explained to Le Nouvelliste that the search did not necessarily concern the occupant of the house, but rather certain items that may have been located there. “The judicial police are investigating certain objects that may have been moved from one place to another, with the aim of destabilization. There are leads involving several houses. I do not think the agents believed that the mayor lived in this house. It belongs to the artist Jean Léonard Tout-Puissant, known as Izolan,” the source told Le Nouvelliste. According to this contact, Youri Chevry is scheduled to appear at the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police on Monday, December 15.
