Donald Trump on Thursday welcomed the “magnificent gesture” of Venezuelan opposition figure María Corina Machado, who presented him with the medal from her Nobel Peace Prize during their meeting at the White House.

“Maria gave me her Nobel Peace Prize for the work I have accomplished. What a magnificent gesture of mutual respect. Thank you, Maria!” the U.S. president wrote on his Truth Social platform, as he openly covets the distinction.
