The Minister of Defense, Jean Michel Moïse, has announced that he will pursue defamation charges against the Director General of the ministry, Jean Ronel Sistani, who has accused him of corruption. “He will have to answer before the courts for defamation,” the Minister of Defense told Le Nouvelliste on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

“Most, if not all, of the projects this petty scandal-monger is talking about are projects from last year’s budget that were not executed, carried over into the current budget, and are still under review at the Ministry of Planning (…) The little street man making these accusations is an aspiring Minister of Defense,” Jean Michel Moïse continued.
