On Monday, April 13, 2026, activities were significantly disrupted at the CODEVI industrial park in Ouanaminthe, where thousands of workers began a three-day strike to denounce the deterioration of their living conditions and the inaction of the authorities in the face of a socio-economic crisis deemed unbearable.

At the call of several trade union organizations, notably SORENE, SOTRACO, SYNOCO and UTRACO, workers massively stopped work in order to make their demands heard. This mobilization, announced several days earlier, comes in a context marked by the rising cost of living and the lack of concrete responses from public authorities.
