As of 7 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026, the situation remained tense in the Cul-de-Sac Plain. Since Wednesday, two criminal coalitions have been clashing in a bloody battle for territorial control. The gangs Chen Mechan, Taliban led by Jeff Gwo Lwa (Canaan), and 400 Mawozo of Lanmò San Jou are fighting against the gangs of Pierre 6 and Terre Noire in the commune of Cité Soleil.

This situation has caused heightened tensions in Pierre 6, Duvivier, Village Renaissance, Fourgy, Sarthe, among other areas, throughout the weekend. Residents of Terre Noire, contacted by the newspaper on Monday, described a dramatic situation. Confined to their homes since Saturday, they portray neighborhoods trapped in crossfire between the two camps, with no possibility of moving or obtaining supplies. “We are caught in the middle between the two sides,” one resident said, his voice marked by exhaustion and fear.
