The Forces Armées d’Haïti (FAD’H) graduated 339 new soldiers on Tuesday, April 22, 2026, a source at the Ministry of Defense told Le Nouvelliste. “Among the 339 newly graduated, 200 will receive special training to strengthen the task force. Another 100 will join the ranks of the National Guard stationed in Clercine, whose mission will be to secure the immediate surroundings of the international airport. The remaining group, about fifty, will likely be sent as reinforcements to the Artibonite,” the source explained, emphasizing an accelerated strengthening of personnel.

“Five hundred and seventy applicants have already completed all tests and medical examinations. They are waiting to be called up to begin individual soldier training. They will spend four months at the training center before being deployed in the field,” the source indicated. “Repairs are underway at the Vertières base to accommodate them during the third week of May, if everything goes as planned,” the source added.
