While awaiting confirmation of its budget, the publication of the electoral decree in Le Moniteur, and the development of an electoral calendar, the Conseil électoral provisoire (CEP) is attempting to remain active. Electoral advisors and the CEP’s executive director met, to this end, on Monday, May 4, 2026, with the political director of the Force de répression des gangs (FRG).

As of this Monday, May 4, the Electoral Council had neither a legal framework to organize elections, nor a budget, nor a calendar. The CEP has been navigating blindly since the government led by Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, following developments related to the National Pact for Stability and the Organization of Elections, decided to modify the mandate of the electoral advisors.
