Music lovers turned out in large numbers for this highly anticipated event, which marked both the return to the stage of one of the country’s most popular groups and the official debut of a new generation of musicians led by Junior Bonheur. Between the VIP area and the sections closest to the stage, the event experienced a significant delay that did not sit well with all attendees.
The evening truly got underway shortly after midnight with a performance by artist Martine Alexandre. As the opening act, the singer created a warm atmosphere by performing several audience favorites, including “Pou Manman,” made popular by Zenglen, as well as “Kobay,” a well-known song among compas enthusiasts. Her performance helped put spectators in the perfect mood before the evening’s two featured bands took the stage.
