To everyone’s surprise, Port-au-Prince hosted the first National Investment Forum on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the Palm Résidence Hotel in Pétion-Ville. The initiative marks the official launch in Haiti of Global Gateway, the European Union’s investment strategy, which aims to mobilize €400 billion by 2027.

Throughout the day, while journalists were only present for the opening and closing ceremonies, discussions took place between members of the Haitian government, international partners, and representatives of the local private sector.
