Philippe Vorbe, the former Haitian international who played in the 1974 World Cup alongside Emmanuel Sanon, was the featured guest on the morning program Panel Magik on Radio Magik 9 (100.9) on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. It was an opportunity for him to offer an initial assessment of Haiti’s participation in the 2026 World Cup and to examine the uncertainties surrounding the future of the national team.
Vorbe first took care to praise the work of the transition committee currently leading the Haitian Football Federation under Monique André. According to him, the committee deserves to be congratulated for the way it guided Haiti to this World Cup appearance, the second in the country’s history after 1974. “We wanted to congratulate the committee for its conduct and for the success we achieved,” he said, noting that this success extends beyond the sporting arena and reflects a broader institutional presence on the international stage.
