TiCorn is an iconic voice with an unmistakable timbre, one that has marked the history of Haitian music with songs that have become timeless, such as “Sous Le Ciel d’Haïti,” “Deklarasyon,” “Karenaj” and “Timoun Solèy.” An artist whose compositions have spanned several generations, she continues today, more than four decades after her beginnings, to practice with the same passion, energy and determination the art that drives her, while continuing to bring Haiti into the spotlight through her work. Ticket spoke with this grande dame of Haitian and German music, who is celebrating her 73rd birthday this week. Her talent extends far beyond our borders.

“I thank you for asking me questions about my health, because at certain ages, health can sometimes fail us,” she told Ticket, before continuing: “I’m doing perfectly well. I’m doing perfectly well. I’m in great shape and have a lot of energy. I also exercise while paying attention to my diet. And of course, I continue to make music and compose new works,” the singer of “Pèleren” told us, adding that she has a ton of plans for the future.
