Archbishop Paul Coakley, president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), urges President Donald Trump to suspend the deportations of Haitian nationals living in the United States. In a letter addressed to the American president, posted on the USCCB website, he cites the security situation in Haiti and the risks faced by those being returned, particularly following a recent deadly attack in Kenscoff. Bishop Coakley believes that there is currently no adequate system in place to ensure the safe and orderly reception and reintegration of deportees.<\/p>
