The Superior Council of Judicial Power (CSPJ) installed Me Wilfride Brutus as the new dean of the first instance court of Fort-Liberté on Thursday, October 1, 2026. The ceremony was held in the presence of members of the judicial apparatus, representatives of civil society, and the press.
After taking an oath at the Court of Appeal of Cap-Haïtien, Me Wilfride Brutus was installed by the government commissioner close to the first instance court of Fort-Liberté, Me Charles-Édouard Durant. He succeeds Me Louicius Brénord, who led this jurisdiction for about a year and six months. According to the CSPJ, Me Brénord was removed for reasons related to a "lack of professional and moral integrity."
