Me Joseph Mécène Jean-Louis, former judge at the Court of Cassation, passed away in Gonaïves at the age of 77. A professor of literature and history, he joined the Haitian judiciary at a very young age, where he served for over thirty years. His name was associated, in February 2021, with an initiative from a faction of the opposition that was considering nominating him to replace President Jovenel Moïse at the head of the country. The Haitian judiciary mourns the passing of Me Jean-Louis.<\/p>
