Imagining Haiti's National Television (TNH) as one of the first leaders in the Caribbean in terms of broadcasting technology may seem utterly unimaginable today. But there was a time when this was indeed the case. At least, this is what Mr. Fritz Joassin asserts. The telecommunications engineer is one of those who worked to establish the public channel, inaugurated on December 23, 1979. A reference from which Dominican media reportedly drew inspiration, much like the Malecon Boulevard (Santo Domingo) which was inspired by the Bicentennial Boulevard of Port-au-Prince, to create their own radio station.

"I was contacted by an official from the Dominican Republic who wanted to have a copy of the National Television," recounts Fritz Joassin, who participated in the show Panel Magik on Monday, October 26, 2026, as part of the centennial celebration of broadcasting in Haiti. The engineer notably contributed to the creation of several media outlets, including Clasica FM, for the Bermúdez family, one of the pioneers in the media sector in the Dominican Republic, who was charmed by the public media.
