In a statement made public on Sunday, October 25, 2026, the general management of the National School of Arts (ENARTS) honors the passing of professor and painter, Philippe Antoine. "Mr. Antoine dedicated his life, his knowledge, and his time to the service of his students and ENARTS," reads the statement.

Born in Port-au-Prince on January 30, 1960, Philippe Antoine studied at the Roger Anglade College and with Madeleine Payer. At the age of 12, he emerged as an artist. Young and full of talent, he drew everything that moved and, curious as he was, sought his identity. Philippe was not just a painter; to him, an artist is also a philosopher, a thinker. He thus decided to educate and build himself.
