The Haitian men's under-17 national team left the country on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, bound for Brazil, where they will hold a training camp before heading to Qatar for the FIFA World Cup, scheduled from November 19 to December 13, 2026.

This is the final stretch for the Haitian team before entering the World Cup in this category. Led by Kowsky Sainvil, the team aims to take advantage of their stay in Brazil to make the final adjustments before facing the best teams in their category.

In a statement released on October 27, the Haitian Football Federation (FHF) thanked FIFA, the Brazilian embassy in Haiti, and Viva Rio for their support, particularly in obtaining visas. They also acknowledged the contributions of their partners.

Before their departure, the Grenadiers completed an initial training phase in two stages. The first took place in Port-au-Prince with several friendly matches. During the second phase in Ouanaminthe, the young Haitians faced several local teams. They lost 1-0 against Ouanaminthe FC, drew 1-1 against Real Hope, and then won 4-2 against Trou du Nord.

In Qatar, Haiti will compete in Group D, alongside France, Uruguay, and Saudi Arabia. The Grenadiers will kick off their campaign on November 19 against the French, followed by a match against the Uruguayans on November 22, and the Saudis on November 25.

The competition will host 48 teams, divided into 12 groups of four. The top two teams from each group, along with the eight best third-placed teams, will advance to the knockout stage.

As a reminder, the Haitian team secured their spot for the World Cup in February 2026, after a 2-1 victory against Guatemala in the Concacaf qualifiers.
