The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship, Raina Forbin, advocated for a reorientation of international cooperation in favor of Haiti, prioritizing productive investment and sustainable development rather than an approach solely based on emergency aid. The Haitian chancellor defended this position during a video conference with the Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Noemí Espinoza Madrid, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship dated Thursday, October 29, 2026.

During this meeting, the two officials reviewed the progress of the implementation of the Regional Action Plan for Haiti. They also discussed the preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Ad Hoc Steering Committee on Humanitarian Assistance and Development in the Republic of Haiti.
