After a two-year interruption, American Airlines officially resumed its operations in Haiti on Sunday, November 1, 2026, with the reestablishment of its daily route between Miami and Cap-Haïtien. The arrival of the inaugural flight at Cap-Haïtien International Airport marked the culmination of several months of work, institutional efforts, and preparations involving government authorities, airport officials, and representatives from the American company.

The resumption of flights was celebrated during an official ceremony that brought together Foreign Affairs and Religious Minister Raina Forbin, Minister of Public Works, Transportation and Communications Joseph Almathe Pierre-Louis, Commerce Minister James Monazard, the Director General of the National Airport Authority (AAN), José Bernard Mathias Schettini, as well as Pascual Álvarez, Director of Operations for American Airlines in South America, Central America, and the Caribbean.
