"The United Nations has taken note of reports regarding the deployment of additional Salvadoran troops in Haiti. The vast majority of these personnel do not come under the 'Gang Suppression Force' (Gang Response Force (FRG)); they therefore fall outside the scope of the mandate and monitoring mechanisms of the United Nations support office," stated UN Secretary-General spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric in a press statement on Monday, November 2, 2026.
"The United Nations support office is tasked with providing logistical and operational support to the personnel of the 'Gang Suppression Force', as well as ensuring the implementation of the Human Rights Due Diligence Policy," continued the UN Secretary-General's spokesperson.
