The President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, in his second message to the Haitian people, referred to the liberator Jean-Jacques Dessalines, who was betrayed and killed by traitors for their personal gain. This has plunged several generations of Haitians into suffering and misery. These traitors still exist in Haiti. They are not the heirs of Dessalines, Bukele stated, as he called for the people’s support in the fight against these traitors, some of whom have armed and funded gangs. “We will help you take back the country from the traitors who have betrayed Dessalines' legacy,” Bukele said. He reiterated that he is not an invader in this message posted on Tuesday evening while his military reportedly supported struggling Chadians using a helicopter. Le Nouvelliste publishes in full his second direct message to the Haitian people.
