Born in the capital on November 6, 1926, Marie Joseph Georges Corvington Junior dedicated a large part of his life to reconstructing the history of his city. Port-au-Prince over the Years remains a reference for anyone wishing to know the past of the capital, from its colonial origins to the mid-1950s.

Son of lawyer Georges Corvington and Henriette Saurel, he completed his classical studies and then pursued law studies at the Faculty of Law and Economic Sciences of Port-au-Prince (FDSE). He obtained his degree but did not choose a career as a lawyer. History, literature, and urban geography captured his attention more.
