To assist the Haitian National Police (PNH), Canada will establish a coordination cell in the Dominican Republic. Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mélanie Joly, announced the establishment of a "joint security coordination cell to be led by Canada" during a ministerial meeting on Haiti's security on Thursday, June 15, 2023.

According to a press release, this coordination cell will aim to "improve coordination and mobilization of international efforts in security assistance by working closely with the Haitian National Police (PNH), international partners, and the United Nations to foster a sustainable environment for long-term peace and security in Haiti."
