The US immigration system is grappling with an overwhelming number of applications through the Humanitarian Parole program. Despite the US Department of Homeland Security's efforts to implement changes in case processing, the situation remains challenging.
"Regrettably, the sheer volume of applicants has placed a significant strain on the immigration services in the US. As a somewhat controversial measure, they have resorted to treating half of the applications as a form of lottery, while the other half is processed based on the date of receipt," explained Patricia Elizée, an immigration specialist lawyer, during an interview with the Panel Magik show on Wednesday, July 6, 2023.
