During a meeting with Prime Minister Ariel Henry at the summit organized for the 50th anniversary of Caricom, the President of Rwanda stated that his country was ready to contribute to an international force in support of the Haitian National Police, as reported by the Prime Minister's Office on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

"At the summit coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Caricom, Prime Minister Ariel Henry held discussions with President Paul Kagame of Rwanda during a bilateral meeting. Security was at the center of the discussions. President Kagame highlighted the connections between Africa and Haiti, emphasizing that it was a duty for his country to respond to a request from a brotherly nation. In this regard, he declared that Rwanda was prepared to contribute to the formation of this specialized multinational force that our country is seeking, once the conditions are met," tweeted the Prime Minister's Office, at a time when, according to the Miami Herald, there is a confidential, unofficial document from the UN that outlines considerations for foreign troops in Haiti.
