Former President Michel Joseph Martelly responded to the summons of investigating judge Walter W. Voltaire in connection with the case of the assassination of Jovenel Moïse, his protegé whom he introduced to politics under the banner of his Haitian Bald Headed Party (PHTK). Former President Martelly, accompanied by his lawyer, Mario Delcy, appeared calm before and after the hearing. He spent several hours in the office of Judge Voltaire, who continues to summon significant political and economic figures for questioning. The press is unaware of the capacity in which the singer Sweet Micky, who became the 56th president of Haiti in 2011, appeared before the judge.
The former head of state was swiftly escorted away in a Toyota Land Cruiser immediately after the hearing, without uttering a word to the press. A rara band, accompanied by supporters clad in pink t-shirts and chanting "Yo paka bare m" (They can't stop me), greeted Martelly upon his arrival. Magalie Habitant, the former director of the Metropolitan Service for Solid Waste Collection (SMCRS), who faces corruption charges, was also present in the vicinity to show support for what she considers her best friend.
