Replacing Sébastien Carrière, André François Giroux is taking his first steps at the Canadian Embassy in Haiti. Arriving in a particularly challenging context for the Haitian population, the Canadian diplomat reaffirmed his country's determination to stand with Haiti more than ever. Giroux "guaranteed that his country will continue to support the Haitian National Police (HNP) and coordinate efforts among different donors," stated a note from the Haitian chancellery.

"A new face, but the same steadfast support for solutions led by Haitians to the crises facing the Haitian people," wrote the Canadian Embassy on its X account (formerly Twitter).
