Two investigators from the General Inspection of the Haitian National Police (HNP) were honored at a ceremony on December 18. According to a note published on the police's social media, this recognition rewards the quality of work provided by these recipients to the police oversight. "A chief inspector and a police investigator from different divisions of the IGPNH are distinguished for their rigor and efficiency in handling the cases assigned to them. This distinction is part of a quarterly program initiated by the IGPNH and supported by BINUH. The Inspector General Chief of the HNP, Fritz Saint-Fort, Jean Reynald Fleurantin, Chief of Staff of the IGC, Arnaud Royer, Head of the Human Rights Department of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH), and police officers from different units were some of the personalities who took part in this ceremony held at the IGPNH premises in Delmas 2," the note reads.

According to Inspector General Fritz Saint-Fort, this activity is supported by the BINUH Human Rights Office. Support that, according to him, encourages efficiency within his institution. "We are able to reward the best investigators at the end of each quarter. We evaluate performance based on the quality of work provided, the quantity of investigation reports produced, etc. In terms of rewards, the awarded investigators receive, among other things, a computer. That said, we reward the best investigators by providing them with a means that will allow them to be more effective in their mission," explained the high-ranking official. The institution is in its second round of rewards.
