The construction of the new control tower at Toussaint Louverture International Airport is making progress. The metallic structure that will house the control room is taking shape, and the construction of the technical building is advancing rapidly. The air traffic control radar is already available and has been successfully tested. On Wednesday, December 12, a delegation from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) visited the airport to assess the progress of the construction. The delegation was accompanied by Laurent Joseph Dumas, the Director-General of National Office of Civil Aviation (OFNAC).

The construction of this new control tower is funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the national treasury. Le Nouvelliste was able to speak with a representative from the Ministry of Public Works about the progress of the project. The contact stated that the work is well advanced, and the tower should be operational by July 2024.
