The four members of the United Nations panel of experts on sanctions have visited Haiti this week. Since the renewal of their mandate last October, this marks their first visit to Haiti. The newspaper has learned that the four UN experts have conducted numerous interviews and meetings with the aim of submitting a report to the Sanctions Committee.
"In March, they will have to present a midterm report. On the ground, they have met with institutions such as ULCC, UCREF, DCPJ, BAF, government officials, and civil society organizations capable of providing information on gang activities, corruption, and money laundering," revealed a source to the newspaper.
