Guy Philippe denounced the international community, called on the outgoing government not to sign the decree creating the 7-member Transitional Presidential Council, urged them to withdraw from this council. The former elected senator of Grand'Anse announced that he had accepted after "various proclamations" in Haiti and abroad to lead the transition, called on the "armed youth" from populous neighborhoods to "protect the people," and announced the launch, on Tuesday, April 2, of the campaign not only to dismantle the system but also to impose the choice of the Haitian people. All these announcements were made in a statement of just over six minutes on Monday, April 1, 2024.
"We can see, once again, despite the determination of the people, that the international community, led by the United States, Canada, and France, with the Caricom as their servant, wants to regenerate and allow the continuation of this corrupt system. (...) Today, they are setting up a council with 7 heads to take control of the country's destiny," said the former elected senator of Grand'Anse, who issued two warnings to the outgoing government and the members of the Presidential Council.
